This course will continue to explore the work of Joseph Campbell (1904-1987), the famed Folklorist and Mythologist. We will follow up our study of the purpose of myth with the power of myth. This power is found in the ability of myths to help give us a language and vocabulary to engage with the transcendent within our everyday lives. Joseph Campbell will help us focus on the eternal rather than the everlasting and also illuminate how various faith traditions define God.
